My book review of 'Black Tag' by Simon Mayo
A West End gallery is set alight and priceless artwork looks set to be lost. Fortunately the fire service have a grab list so retrieve the paintings named on it, only for the gallery owners to discover later that it's the wrong list.
What's more, a dead body is discovered in the ruined building.
A freelance investigative journalist, Famie Madden wants to know who the victim is and why they were in the gallery.
There's a lot going on in this book. It's a fantastically complicated mystery involving the art world, activism and the media. Masterfully written. It's tense, pacy and action-packed. Loved it!
