Mrs Quinn's Rise to Fame
by Olivia Ford

Jennifer Quinn loves cooking and, on a whim, and without telling friends or family, decided to apply for a spot in a tv competition. But this isn't the only secret she's been keeping from them.

Of course Mrs Quinn gets accepted for the programme, but as she comes to terms with the cameras, challenges, judges, and stardom she has to deal with the fact that a part of her life she's kept hidden for almost 60 years is going to be revealed.

The tv competition, you might have guessed, is Bake Off, and this book reads just as if we were going behind the scenes with one of the contestants on this familiar programme.

There aren't many surprises for the reader, just a few twists and turns in the story, and nothing really to rock the boat, because this is a soothing and uplifting story, a little poignant at times but overall it leaves you with a smile on your face - just like the tv show.
