My book review of 'The Switch' by Beth O'Leary
Leena isn't doing well at work and needs a break so, taking a two-month sabbatical, she escapes to her grandmother's house in a Yorkshire village.
Grandmother Eileen is about to turn eighty. She's newly single and seeking romance and companionship but there are few opportunities in her remote, small community.
So the two women decide to make a life swap.
Things don't prove straightforward though. In Yorkshire Leena has to cope with wilful, formidable OAPs and a handsome schoolteacher. In London, Eileen is a huge hit with her new neighbours, and with the online dating scene.
Will the two women find what they're looking for, and what impact will they have on their newly adopted communities? It's a lovely read.
