My book review of 'Julia Donaldson's Book of Names' by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Nila Aye
This is such a simple idea yet so clever!
Julia Donaldson has been asked to sign hundreds and thousands of books in her successful career, and she has met children with some lovely and often unusual names. She's listed them here in rhyme, with colourful and cheery illustrations from Nila Aye.
They're collected in themes - months of the year, flowers, colours and food - and there's Julia's whimsy as well as rhythm and rhyme to enjoy.
"I've signed for boys called Romeo
and girls called Julie .
I've signed for Roman, Saxon, Dane -
Though not for Norman yet."
A very lovely book!
