My book review of 'I heard a bird' by Rob Ramsden
Simple, bold illustrations and a gentle story of a young girl taking time to experience the natural world around her is the basis for this new book by Suffolk children's writer, Rob Ramsden.
The little girl hears a bird singing and wants to see what it looks like. But the bird disappears. As she continues to seek it out, she notices other wildlife around her and enjoys their noises and activity, as well as appreciating the moments of silence too.
Aimed at young children, this is a lovely introduction to being present in the moment - or mindfulness, the buzz word on the back cover.
