My book review of 'Lizzy and the Cloud' by Eric fan and illustrated by Terry Fan
This is a beautifully produced picture book by brothers, Eric and Terry. There are wonderful, delicate illustrations to accompany this curious tale of a girl looking after her cloud, whom she calls Milo. But one day she needs to set Milo free.
It was no longer the fashion to own a cloud, but Lizzy didn't care. It's what she wanted, and she found the perfect cloud when she discovered Milo.
Together they used to go for walks in the park, and down the high street but over time Milo started to grow. And there were times when Milo got grumpy and Lizzy got wet.
Ultimately, Lizzy realises that she can no longer keep Milo tethered. He needs to float freely.
This is a story of growth and loving something enough to set it free. It is a wonderfully whimsical, charming, beautiful book. Suitable for all ages from three upwards.
