My book review of 'The Central Line' by Saskia Sarginson
Cora and Jacob live at either end of the Central Line in London. Their paths may have crossed many times without them knowing, until one day when they do meet and they feel that connection.
Of course events dictate that things are never that simple. In fact they have completely different backgrounds and lifestyles, so perhaps they're not destined to get together. We have to wait to find out!
This is a charming and compelling love story which I very much enjoyed, though I wouldn't compare it to 'One Day' or 'Sliding Doors', which is how it's billed in the publicity. By so doing, it undermined the story for me because it left me expecting a twist and for me there wasn't one. But that didn't mean it wasn't a page turner as I was gripped by the characters and wanting to learn their fate. Very enjoyable.
