My book review of 'The Hospital Dog' by Julia Donaldson and and Sara Ogilvie
Dot is a dalmatian who loves making friends, so each week she hops on the bus, with her kindly owner, Rose, and they make their way to the local hospital.
Here, wearing her special jacket, Dot roams the wards. Things are tough for lots of people there, but meeting Dot helps lift them out of their troubles and discomfort.
Walking home one day, though, Dot sees one of her young friends in danger. Leaping to save the young boy, she is injured and becomes a patient herself. Will anyone come to visit Dot?
This is such a lovely and touching story. The rhymes draw you along and the illustrations are vibrant and full of energy. It's a picture book aimed at children aged three years and above, but all the family will love this book!
