Rachel Joyce
It's difficult to get in a festive mood when the weather is so unseasonably mild but there was a lot of joy in the room as we listened to Rachel Joyce, author of the wonderful, best-selling novel ‘The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry’.
Rachel joined us at Seckford Hall Hotel which was busy with a Harry Potter party in its East Wing and yoga taking place in the other half of our room. And it being Friday the 13th, we had a little hiccup with only one microphone working, and then being rather temperamental, so the audience soon decided that they'd rather Rachel and I talked without amplification, and it worked well.
Rachel was a beautiful speaker being very relaxed and open in all that she had to say about her career, her books, her inspiration and her family.
There was a long queue to have the beautiful new book signed by Rachel, and everyone was happy to wait and chat until they had a moment to meet her and share their appreciation of her writing.
