Erica James in conversation

Wednesday 25th February 2015, 7.30pm
Venue: Browsers Bookshop

What would you do if you discovered a diary hidden in a discarded book?

Saskia and her father, Ralph, work in the secondhand book trade, in a village in Suffolk. They discover a diary hidden and forgotten in an old Bible which describes a relationship at Bletchley Park, the wartime code-breaking headquarters.

Best-selling novelist, Erica James was joined by members of the team from Oxfam Books Woodbridge to explore the storyline of Erica's latest novel 'The Dandelion Years', her nineteenth book.

We heard about some of the things that have been found between the pages of donated books and what makes a volume valuable and collectable.

Erica has recently moved to Suffolk and she described how place is an important element both in inspiring storylines and in helping her to write.

We had a packed bookshop for this event, and the audience were eager to buy the new book and also a title from Erica's large backlist to take away as signed copies.

I talked with Lesley Dolphin on BBC Radio Suffolk about Erica's visit. Listen to our conversation here:
