A Man Called Ove

My review:

Ove is tired with life. He is a grumpy, unpleasant man who seems to have no time for anyone. He lives in a residential area in Sweden, alone, retired, and with no purpose. He has resolved to die; his papers are in order and everything is in place, but he is interrupted. New neighbours have reversed their car into his letterbox. Astounded at their stupidity and incompetence, he puts his plans aside for the day and remonstrates with them, so initiating the start of a relationship which slowly, little by litte, changes everything.

This is a beautiful book! It's funny, touching, sad and uplifting. It's a story of community, friendship, hope and resilience. If you enjoyed 'The Unlikely  Pilgrimage of Harold Fry', you'll love this. It's wonderful!
