Details for 'Home' by Julie Myerson
Home
A peak into the life of the journalist and novelist, and the generations who have preceded her in her London Victorian terrace.
My review:
Julie Myerson spent a year investigating the history of her London Victorian terrace, her home for 15 years. She describes how long, hot afternoons buried in the archieves, relentless searches through phone books, and the dedicated trawling through computer lists eventually bore fruit revealing fascinating cameos of previous residents.
It is a charming, compelling and moving story as we learn about the different personalities who have shared the same space over the generations.
