A beautifully told story of rabbits in peril!
The Legend of Podkin One-Ear

My review:

Podkin is a rabbit, the son of a warrior chieftain. He's having fun annoying his older sister Paz and playing with his baby brother Pook, but he knows that one day he will be responsible for leading his warren and guarding it in times of danger.

Then Podkin's home is attacked by the terrifying Gorm. The rabbits have to escape but nowhere is safe. Podkin is forced 'to protect his family, uncover his destiny, and attempt to defeat the most horrifying enemy rabbitkind has ever known'.

It's a fast-paced adventure with plenty of jeopardy, but some touches of humour too. The intricate pencil illustrations which span two pages at a time, punctuate the story beautifully. It's wonderfully written with such a depth to it that it feels as though it's a classic children's book, of decades past. This is the first in a series of seven books exploring the World of Podkin, aimed at readers aged 9 years and above.
