My review:

It's extraordinary how this series of images of one scene, one landscape, presented through different manifestations, different time periods, can present such a powerful message.

The illustrator takes us through the evolution and development of our species. How we've moved from providing simple shelters and means of survival to energy-consuming toys and constructions which are stripping our environment of beauty and sustenance.

Each image is packed full of drama, drawing on a number of cultures and architectural styles to present this story which is mesmerising in the detail and atmosphere through sophisticated artwork and a challenging perspective.

Aimed at children aged four years upwards, this is a book for all generations to pore over together. Haunting and challenging.
