My review:

Engaging characters, authentic setting, twists and turns in a compelling plot. Loved it...

Before I say any more, though, I should mention that the backbone for this plot is Alzheimer's. Sarah's father has the disease and she has just received a shocking diagnosis herself. But a big pharmaceutical company believes they may have found a cure.

The subject is handled sensitively and quite objectively. The focus is on the medical and scientific community, and business, rather than the effects of the disease, so even though I realise it is a difficult subject to read as 'entertainment', the author handles it well, I think.

So Sarah has been persuaded by her husband to go to Geneva for the big launch of the new drug. She had earlier won a Nobel Prize so the pharmaceutical company is keen to have her endorsement for the product. But she needs to keep her recent diagnosis secret, and she also wants to check the drug is all it is claimed to be.

The couple travel to Switzerland where they face the fact that Sarah's symptoms are getting worse and, with big money attracted to the big discovery, it's clear not everyone is to be trusted.

The story is told through four perspectives, each one compelling and authentic. Much of the 'action' takes place in the hotel of the conference centre in Geneva, but there's a brilliant account of a day's skiing on the nearby slopes...! This was a great read and I can't wait to see what Richard Armitage writes next. Oh, and I think there are plans for this to be a film?!
